Testing
Your health intake questionnaire helps me build a picture of underlying root causes to your symptoms.
Tests, where appropriate and with your consent, add detail to this picture to help me provide you with a personalised plan. I like to 'test, not guess'. The different types of tests are explained below.
Tests through your doctor
A number of tests are available through your doctor, and I can write to request these tests (with your consent). I then review your results against optimal ranges.
Genetic tests
Nutrigenomic testing, either through a blood spot or saliva sample, can be done in the comfort of your home and sent off to a lab.
Other functional tests
Gut health
So much of your health is attributable to what's going on in your gut. Stool tests are done in the comfort of your home and then returned to an external lab. I then receive and analyse your results.
Self tests
There are a number of helpful tests that you can do yourself at home and send the results directly to me. These may include for example exclusion diets and stomach acid tests.
There is an extensive range of functional tests that can look at, for example, your hormonal health, the state of your adrenal glands and your resilience to stress, or more in depth blood tests not offered by your doctor. These tests are generally done in your home and then sent off to a private lab. I then analyse your results and use these to inform your personalised programme.
